Rev. Father Michael Sie Visits Good Shepherd

10/20/2019

Service of Holy Eucharist (Rite II, Prayer A) led by the Rev. Michael Sie, visiting from Liberia, followed by lunch and fellowship in the parish hall.  Fr. Michael has been sharing his time and God-given talent with us since well before his graduation from the Virginia Theological Seminary in May, 2013, pictured here at that special event with his wife, Lovette. --->>

Before his ordination, Michael served the UN as a translator during the Charles Taylor war crimes trials.  After his ordination, Michael returned to Liberia where he has been active in helping to rebuild Liberia, after that country’s long civil war, serving at three different Episcopal Churches.  As Rector at St. Augustine, Barnardsville, he was instrumental in establishing the Canterbury Library. Michael currently serves as Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Monrovia, where he regularly conducts mass baptisms, thanks be to God!

The readings for this Sunday:

The Collect:  Almighty and everlasting God, in Christ you have revealed your glory among the nations: Preserve the works of your mercy, that your Church throughout the world may persevere with steadfast faith in the confession of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
